Minister for Health and Family Welfare T S Singhdeo has instructed all medical colleges of State to make necessary preparations to face coronavirus infection challenges ahead of third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Minister for Health and Family Welfare Singhdeo discussed with the officers of the Health and Family Welfare Department and the health experts of all medical colleges. He has asked the health experts to provide information on the preparations and resources required for post Covid management and to prepare a plan for the challenges of the possible third wave of corona. Singhdeo has asked the medical experts of the medical colleges to make special arrangements for treatment of pregnant women and children.
 
The Minister has asked the experts to study all data regarding treatment of corona disease and protocols to clear misconceptions and rumours related to its treatment.
 
All deans of the medical colleges have been directed to review physical problems and the situation arising for treatment of Covid-19 by consulting with the doctors and staff of the colleges.
 
All the deans have been asked to analyse current Covid situation, treatment of Covid patients and recovery data of corona patients through experts and send their suggestions to the Health and Family Welfare Department for making better arrangement of Covid-19 pandemic
in State.
 
Principal Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department Dr Alok Shukla said that an in-depth analysis of the facts and figures related to the treatment of Covid-19 is necessary. The Principal Secretary has asked all the medical colleges to improve their arrangements for post-Covid management in view of the present circumstances. Shukla suggested that the medical audit of Covid treatment and medicines should be conducted with the Covid management. A medical audit team in collaboration with the Medical Council of India should be formed for it, he added.
 
Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur Dr Nitin M Nagarkar said that protocols must be followed for Covid management according to new strains of the Covid-19. Dr Nagarkar said that ICU and ventilator facilities should be improved in the hospitals where there needs skilled and trained medical staff.
