In accordance with the State Government’s order, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has extended the COVID-19 restrictions till 7 am of June 1. Meanwhile, on Saturday, State Government issued a revision and relaxed the norms for cargo carriers. Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, issued the order for extension of curbs in accordance with ‘Break the Chain’ directives of State Government. As per the order, any person entering Maharashtra by any mode of transport will have to carry a negative RTPCR test report which will have to be issued from up to a maximum of 48 hours prior to his entry into Maharashtra. All the restrictions made applicable to persons arriving from places of ‘Sensitive Origins’, will be applicable to anyone arriving from any part of the country into the State. Meanwhile, on Saturday, State Government relaxed the norms for cargo carriers.

As per the orders issued on May 12, only two persons including driver and cleaner/helper were allowed to travel in a cargo carrying vehicle. Also, in case of cargo carriers coming from other States, these persons were required to produce negative RTPCR test report issued not longer than 48 hours ago and with a validity of seven days. However, on Saturday, the Government allowed maximum three persons including two drivers and cleaner/helper to travel in cargo carriers going long distance and emergency cargo carriers.

Further, if these cargo carriers are originating from other States, they may be allowed to enter Maharashtra only after checking for temperature and other symptoms ‘as well as status of each person on ‘Arogya Setu’ mobile phone application’. “If any one is found to display any of the symptoms or temperature or if the status in Arogya Setu for any of the persons is not ‘safe’, then all the persons shall be directed to the nearest Covid Care Center for further investigations,” read the State Government’s new orders issued on Saturday. In the latest order, the condition of RTPCR test report has been relaxed and temperature/symptom check will be there.
