A 32-year-old man was killed after his bike skidded on Chikhali flyover and he fell off the bridge in Shanti Nagar area on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Rajkumar, a native of Karnataka. He was living in a rented accommodation in Koradi and working in a company. The accident occurred at around 9 pm when he was heading towards Koradi on a motorcycle with a pillion rider who also works with him in the company.

 

When the two were passing through the flyover, the bike skid due to sudden rain. After hitting the railing of the bridge, Rajkumar lost his balance and fell off the bridge. A large number of onlookers gathered at the spot and informed the police. The pillion rider sped away from the spot after spotting onlookers.

 

He later returned to the spot and narrated the incident to the police. Rajkumar was wearing a helmet but he sustained grievous injuries in the mishap. It appears that he lost balance after hitting the divider, a senior police officer said. The police were also investigating whether his bike was hit by any vehicle. A case of accidental death was registered by Shanti Nagar police. The police are trying to contact his parents.
