As already pre-monsoon showers have started in Madhya Pradesh, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has intensified its drain cleaning drive and is intended to clean all the drains before on set of monsoon. On Monday also, drains of various areas were cleaned with the help of machines. To de-silt big drains, BMC is using Poclain and JCB machines. On Monday, BMC workers cleaned drains of Ektapuri, Patel nagar, Lady Hospital, Ishwar nagar, Zinci Square, Dana Pani Road, 74 Bunglow etc.

 

BMC Commissioner and other staff members are continuously monitoring the drive initiated to clean drains in city. before onset of monsoon, drains are mandatorily needed to be cleaned as un cleaned drains poses huge problem to residents of colonies as even during moderate rainfall, they starts over flowing and entire filth scatters on roads. Local residents have to brave the filthy smell of drain waste which comes into open lanes. Even un-cleaned drains even brings flood into the lanes of low lying colonies. Hence before arrival of monsoon, BMC wants to clean drains in best possible manner.
