The second dose of Covishied will be administered 12 to 16 weeks after the shot of first dose has been given. “The National Technical Advisory Group has recommended increasing the duration of the gap between the two doses of the Covishield vaccine. The interval between the two doses of Covaxin will remain 28 to 42 days, as before. There is no change in the duration of the Covaxin,” State Immunisation Officer Dr Santosh Shukla. For Covishield vaccine, now, online or on-site appointments will be accepted only after a minimum period of 84 days from the date of first vaccination.
 
The registration of the beneficiaries who have already been registered till date, will not be canceled. IEC has advised to reschedule their registration, if they voluntarily want to take a second dose of the vaccine, such beneficiaries can take second dose of the Covishield vaccine. Such beneficiaries, who are between 18 and 44 years of age, will be registered through CoWin portal. Those, whose registration will be confirmed, will receive information by SMS. On-the-spot vaccination will not be done without registration. 5,673 beneficiaries administered vaccine At least 5,673 vaccine doses were administered at all the inoculation centres in Bhopal district on Monday. A total of 50 centres were vaccinating beneficiaries above 45 years of age – 34 centres were administering Covishield while 16 were giving Covaxin shots. Only twenty-centres administered vaccine to beneficiaries of 18-44 years of age.
