Loving self in tough, testing times is important: Rathi

MOTIVATIONAL speaker Subhash Rathi feels that due to coronavirus fear, humankind has forgot to love oneself and that loving self is very important in these tough and testing times. Rathi was speaking on the topic ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ — last in the five-webinar series titled ‘National Seminar on Impact of COVID-19 on Mental & Physical Health; Precautions & Remedies’. The event was organised jointly by Priyadarshini Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Wardha; MB Patel College, Sakoli; NMD College, Gondia; Late Nirdhan Patil Waghaye Mahavidyalaya, Lakhani and Academy of Physical Education. Addressing the participants, Rathi, Director of Rathi’s Trading and Placement, Raipur, said, “Due to coronavirus fear, we have lost to love ourselves and that loving self is key in these tough times. One should always learn to win and by doing that one tends to gain more knowledge, he studies and reads more. One must analyse self to become a better human being.
 
“One should know and understand one’s importance and qualities. One must talk to oneself reassuring that one’s the best. It is not necessary to talk in front of others saying that ‘I am the best’. One should keep it to oneself. We always run for our needs but do not give time to ourselves in reality. One is always comparing oneself with others and in that process forgets his own aims and objectives. “In today’s world, we are living in mental tension and under stress. Instead one must try to keep oneself encouraged and upbeat. Whenever negativity or negative thoughts enter out minds, one must understand that the outer forces are seriously harming you form inside. In these times, we must love ourselves and that will help in killing the negative thoughts. Patience in also very important but loving oneself is the ultimate key in life.” Aniket Ambekar, Assistant Professor at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha presided over the webinar.
 
“We must act like sunflowers that take energy from sun. In the same way, we must try to extract positive energy from these webinars,” Ambekar urged. Dr Dyaneshwar Kadhav, Principal, Late Nirdhan Patil Waghaye Mahavidyalaya, Post Gadegaon, Lakhani made introductory remarks. “These types of events provide an insight in a scientific way. The fear of coronavirus that has gripped the masses due to their lack of knowledge, will be dispelled through such initiatives,” Kadhav said. Dr Anil Karvande, President of Academy of Physical Education was a special guest of the concluding fifth and final webinar. He said that everybody, those who have been affected by the dreaded disease or those who lucky not to have contracted it till now, must take care of themselves.
 
Participants from various states including students, teachers and professors took part in the five-day event and spoke their minds. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education Department, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, was prominently present. Dr Sudhir Sahare, HoD, Sports and Physical Education Department, Late Nirdhan Patil Waghaye Mahavidyalaya, Lakhani conducted the proceedings. Dr Pravin Kumar, HoD, Sports and Physical Education Department, NMD College, Gondia anchored the closing ceremony. The technical aspect of the webinar for all the five days was taken care of by Dr Amit Tembhurne, HoD, Sports and Physical Education Department, MB Patel College. Dr Sonali Shirbhate, HoD, Sports and Physical Education Department, Priyadarshini Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Wardha proposed a vote of thanks.
