Junior doctors, posted at the Super Speciality Hospital, Rewa held an State Industrial Security Force (SISF) jawan captive and thrashed him blue and black in the general surgery chamber. Police reached the spot on receiving information and broke the door to save the SISF jawaan. Senior doctors also reached the spot.
 
SISF jawan posted at Bhattlo, Rewa, Ashish Sahu, resident of Bhander, Datia district, arrived at the Super Speciality hospital on Thursday evening as he had swelling and pain in his private parts. As he was in severe pain, he entered the general surgery chamber where doctors were busy talking. He asked them to examine him as he had to report for duty but doctors got furious and started to push him outside the chamber. He opposed to this act, then soon large number of junior doctors gathered and shoved him inside the general surgery chamber and started beating him with belt, shoes and also kicked and punched him.
 
Meanwhile, someone called the Amihia police station and informed about the incident. When police reached the spot, the doctors were still beating the jawan. Police broke open the door and forcibly entered the chamber to save the jawan.
 
When police caught junior doctors red-handed beating the jawan, they got agitated and threatened to go on strike. Meanwhile some senior doctors reached the spot and asked police to let the matter go. Even after being caught, junior doctors were arguing with the police.
 
When the matter took a heated turn, SP Shiv Kumar Verma and CSP Sacchinand Prasad reached the spot. Dean of the Medical College, Dr Manoj Indulkar, Superintendent Dr S P Garg, Superintendent, Super Speciality Hospital, Dr Akshay Shrivastava and Deputy Superintendent Dr Yatnesh Tripathi also reached the spot. After eight hours of discussion, police finally lodged FIR against seven doctors. Doctors also lodged counter FIR and accused the jawan of manhandling them. The victim informed the police that he was thrashed on his private parts by junior doctors despite telling them that he was suffering from pain in his private parts. On the instructions of SP, Rewa Rakesh Kumar Singh, Amihia police station SHO Shiva Agarwal has lodged FIR against seven doctors under various sections.
