The West Central Railway (WCR) has created history by conducting successful high speed oscillation trials upto 180-kms/hour in the year 2020-21. Total 65 oscillation trials were conducted in Bhopal – Kota divisions with 130-180 kms/hour for total 8,900 kms in the past financial year. The WCR has achieved this task before one year of its stipulated time.

 

High speed oscillation trials were conducted to meet the set standards and oscillograph results under Research Design and Standard Organisation (RDSO) of Indian Railway. These trials are conducted by RDSO on different blocks of Indian Railway bases on master data of sections to check the high standards maintenance of tracks, bridges, signalling OHE and its concerned infrastructures.

 

It may be noted that high speed trials upto 180-kms/hour was conducted for AC-III Tire Economy Coach – LWACCNE for running high speed trains of Indian Railway in near future. WDAP-5 is a dual traction high power locomotive operative with AC and diesel. Its high speed oscillation trial was conducted on 150-kms/hour speed between Kota-Nagda section.

 

West Central Railway was leading in conducting oscillation trials in year 2020-21. Oscillation trials were conducted on Kota-Nagda section of Kota Division, Itarsi-Bhopal and Bhopal-Bina Sections of Bhopal Division. WCR registered its best performance in oscillation trials and testing new locomotive and design facilities of rolling stock. The WCR has registered best maintenance practices of track maintenance, mechanization and advanced track signalling and OHE maintenance. Mathura-Kota-Nagda Section covering 549-kms has been selected by Indian Railway for high speed trials. Besides this, two trunk routes of Delhi-Chennai (Itarsi-Bina) and Delhi-Mumbai (Mathura-Nagda) have been increased upto 130-kms/hour and WCR has achieved the target in December 2020 against the stipulated time for December 2021.WCR has registered unmatchable performance in high speed oscillation trial which mirrors the high standard maintenance and dedicated working of its employees and officers.
