‘Mitanins, health workers playing important role during Covid’

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel discussed with mitanins and health workers from Surguja and Bastar divisions about the current corona situation in their respective areas through video conference on Tuesday. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Mitanins and health workers are playing an important role during the Covid crisis to contain the spread of coronavirus infection in rural areas of State. Baghel further said that today, the responsibility of mitanins and health workers in rural areas has increased. The Chief Minister discussed in detail with them about the corona situation in rural areas of all districts of Bastar division and all blocks of Jashpur and Korea districts of Surguja division. The Chief Minister also praised their valuable services in containment and management of the Covid-19 pandemic in rural areas of the state. Baghel said that there is still a lack of awareness for Covid protocols like hand-wash, wearing face cover, sanitisation, vaccine, isolation, social distancing and others in rural areas.
 
The Chief Minister has asked the mitanins and the health workers to motivate rural people to follow Corona guidelines. Besides, the villagers should be motivated for Corona testing and the corona patients in rural areas should be provided medicines on priority, he added. The Chief Minister has asked the mitanins to wear face cover and use sanitiser during field visits so that they could be saved themselves from the COVID infection. On the demands of the mitanins, the Chief Minister has announced to provide free masks and hand sanitizer for all the mitanins and health workers. The Chief Minister has directed all the District Collectors to ensure free of cost availability of masks and hand sanitizer for mitanins and health workers in the districts.
 
Chief Minister Baghel has advised all the mitanins and health workers to compulsorily use masks and sanitizers during the field visits. Even while checking SPO2 level and pulse rate of COVID patients, they have been advised to be careful about their own safety and sanitization. The Chief Minister has acknowledged and appreciated the dedicated and consistent efforts of mitanins and rural health workers in the state to save lives of COVID patients. He added that the mitanins have played an important role in saving lives of COVID patients and in prevention of the corona infection during the second wave in the state. Baghel has advised them to regularly monitor the health condition of people in their respective villages. Baghel said that a mitanin has at least 5 medicine kits always available at present. The Chief Minister has directed the district authorities to motivate women self-help groups of Bastar division for production of sanitiser like Jashpur district where the women self-help groups are manufacturing sanitiser.
 
If sanitiser will be manufactured at local level, it will be easy to distribute among the mitanins at local level, he added. The Chief Minister interacted with the mitanins and the health workers of Janpad Panchayat Kansabel, of Surguja division, Baikunthpur, Koyalibela Janpad Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat Keshkal, Janpad Panchayat Bastar, Janpad Panchayat Dantewada, Janpad Panchayat Narayanpur, Janpad Panchayat Orchha, Janpad Panchayat Sukma and other blocks of Bastar and Surguja. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo and Secretary to Chief Minister Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present.
