For the last 15 days there is a constant improvement in COVID-19 recovery in Nagpur district. On Wednesday, the recovery rate went up further to 82.92% leading to reduction in active cases to 66,116. On Wednesday, 7,400 persons became corona-free taking the cumulative recovery to 3,58,994. According to several medicos with whom ‘The Hitavada’ talked, the number of new cases would come down further and recovery would improve. There is a difference of 3,000 between number of persons recovered and number of new COVID-19 cases.
 
On Wednesday, 7,400 persons recovered while the district registered 4,399 new COVID-19 cases. District is also experiencing fall in new COVID-19 cases. On Wednesday, 4,399 tested positive for COVID-19 in the district of which 12 persons are not the residents of district. Nagpur rural has reported 1,853 new COVID-19 cases while 2,534 tested positive in Nagpur city. This has taken the cumulative positive cases to 4,32,938. Of the total cumulative positive persons, 1,297 are not the residents of the district. Number of COVID deaths in one single day has witnessed further decrease to 82, of these 12 persons were not the residents of Nagpur district. Nagpur rural witnessed fall in death count while Nagpur city is still witnessing the horror of COVID-19 deaths as on Wednesday 48 persons became victims to this virus taking the cumulative death count to 7,828. Of the cumulative deaths 1,115 were not the residents of Nagpur district. Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined.
 
The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (1,920), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (2,160), molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (845), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (212), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (524) private laboratories (11,824), Antigen (4,127).
 

Bed requirement is reducing There is a good news for all the people of citythat the requirement of beds is reducing. Several social organisations, NGOs, hospitals were getting calls from people with a request to arrange for the beds. In a rough estimation which is not official, at this juncture Nagpur city has 770 oxygenated and 111 ICU beds available in the hospitals of Nagpur city.
