To break the chain of corona even in rural areas, Kill Corona-3 campaign has been started in rural areas as well. This campaign has been conceptualised for primary treatment of cold, cough and fever symptoms and for Covid-19 surveillance. This campaign will be conducted from May 7 till May 25.

 

Principal Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Umakant Umrao exhorted primary squad to solicit help of villagers, make them aware and to connect panchayat office-bearers, Self Help Groups members, corona volunteers, active social workers etc with the campaign.

 

He also asked that CEO of Janpad and District Panchayat for effective monitoring of campaign. He stressed that Gram Panchayats should be encouraged to take resolution to impose adequate punishment in the form of fine against those who violates Janata Curfew and those people who violates the guidelines of home isolation. Fine should be recovered from the violators. The sum amassed in form of fine should be used in corona management (including face mask, sanitiser, quarantine centre etc) work.

 

He told that Kill Corona 3 aim is to make every village and all Japanned and districts free from corona.

Notably, earlier, during the first wave, villages remained largely unaffected by pandemic. But in second wave of corona, villages also started to suffer from corona. Seeing this, Government swung into action and started preparations to prevent spread of corona in villages. In this series, Kill corona 3 has been ushered to make village’s corona free.

As corona spread its tentacles till villages hence Congress started to target BOP led state government, accusing it of failing in controlling the corona chain which even spread till villages.
