Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (independent charge) Prahlad Singh Patel chaired a meeting to review preparations for celebrating Jhanda Diwas and International Yoga Day at Collectorate meeting hall, on Saturday. Jhanda Diwas will be celebrated on June 18 and International Yoga Diwas will be organised on June 21. Addressing the meeting, Union Minister Patel said that on the occasion of 75th year of independence, Jhanda Diwas programme is being organised throughout the country as Amrut Mahotsav.
 
He informed that Jhanda Satyagrah for independence of the country was started from Jabalpur. Jhanda Diwas will be celebrated with the strict implementation of COVID-19 protocol at Town Hall on June 18. Maximum 18 people will be allowed to attend the programme. He discussed preparations for the programme with senior public representatives and administrative officers.
 
During the meeting, MLA Ashok Rohani, Sushil Tiwari, Tarun Bhanot, Vinay Saxena, Sanjay Yadav, Nandini Maravi, former Jila Panchayat President, Manorama Patel, former Mayor, Dr Swati Godbole, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Bahuguna, Jila Panchayat, CEO, Riju Bafana, Additional Collector, Rajesh Batham, JMC Commissioner, Sandeep GR and representatives of different organisations were present. It was informed that live telecast of International Yoga Day programme on June 21 will be carried out. Only 21 participants will be allowed to attend the programme.
