An Assistant Conservator of Forest and a Forest Circle Officer were injured when around 70-80 armed miscreants involved in illegal fishing attacked the Chhindimatta patrolling camp of Forest Department in Karmajhiri Circle of Pench Tiger Reserve late night on Monday. The miscreants damaged two motorboats, a Bolero jeep and six motorcycles of the patrolling team through canes and exploded dynamite at the office and vandalised by fishermen in Karmajhiri looted wireless handsets, mobile handsets, solar batter and other materials from the office.
 
In the attack, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Seoni Circle, BP Tiwari and Circle Officer, Karmajhiri, Ashish Khobragarhe were injured. Field Director of Pench Tiger Reserve, Vikram Singh Parihar informed that around 70-80 armed persons engaged in illegal fishing in the reserved forest area attacked at Chhindmatta patrolling camp in a planned way. Miscreants reached on boats and damaged two motorboats, a bolero jeep and six motorcycles of forest employees. They explode dynamite and attempted to kill the forest officers and employees.
 
They looted wireless handsets, mobile handsets, solar batteries and other equipments and materials of Government department. Learning about the incident, Field Director, Viram Singh Parihar along with other officers reached the spot while District Magistrate, Dr. Rahul Fating and Superintendent of Police, Kumar Prateek reached the spot and monitored the situation. Acting on the complaint, Kurrai police have registered a case and started investigation to identify and apprehend the accused. Police have identified some of the accused and started a rigorous search for them.
