IN A humanitarian gesture, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-III) Lohit Matani and a team of Shanti Nagar Police provided roof tarp to prevent seepage in a poor woman’s house on Friday.

 

While foot-patrolling in Shanti Nagar area, cops led by Matani noticed that the roof of a house belonging to an elderly woman -- Narmada Baban Bawankule -- was damaged due to heavy rains. Seventy-year-old Narmada Bawankule was staying alone in the house as her children passed away. Her husband is absconding. As she was unable to live in the house due to seepage, police personnel led by Matani helped her by laying a tarpaulin over the house which was in a dilapidated condition. She thanked the police for helping her in such an odd situation.
