Exorbitant bills of patie

Business Bureau :

ALTHOUGH the number of corona patients in the city is decreasing, the plight of corona patients and their family members is not coming to an end. The exorbitant bills of corona patients charged by private hospitals are being audited by all municipal councils in the State along with Nagpur Municipal Corporation, but no satisfactory results are coming out. It seems that the said departments of municipal councils and private hospitals are having some vested financial interest. All India Unorganised Workers Congress has demanded the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray that stringent action should be taken against those private hospitals charging exorbitant bills.

The audit of the bills of patients and their families should be done by State Government auditors and its constituted committee consisting of legal counsels and eminent social workers. This will result in appropriate refund of the excess amount of bills to the corona patients paid by them. Rajesh Nimbalkar, National Coordinator of All India Unorganised Workers Congress, Senate Member of RTM University Advocate Manmohan Bajpai and Advocate Mangesh Dawade have submitted a memorandum in this regard to the District Collector of Nagpur and also addressed to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Advocate Bajpai and Advocate Dawade jointly said that if elicit response is not received from the State Government will attract legal prosecution in the High Court in the interest of the people.
