Van Vihar records footfall of over 3,000 tourists on first weekend

On the first weekend of reopening of Van Vihar National Park, large number of tourists thronged to enjoy nature’s beauty. Though Sunday is curfew day for people but on Saturday there were 3,003 tourists in the park. According to Van Vihar officials, on Saturday around 3,003 tourists visited the park that generated revenue of Rs 1,34,550. Van Vihar National Park has been reopened for general public from June 17 after almost two months of Corona Curfew. First day there were 1,095 tourists that helped to generate revenue of Rs 47,120.
 
Tourists are allowed to visit the park from 6 am to 7 pm. The park will remain closed on every Friday and Sunday as it is weekly off of the park on Friday and Sunday is Curfew day. However, on the first day the number of visitors was less. People were screened at the entry gate only then they were allowed to enter. The park was closed on direction of district administration to follow Covid guidelines.
 
After reopening of the park, use of mask, social distancing and hand sanitisation is mandatory for all. No one is allowed to enter the park without a mask covering nose and mouth. Deputy Director of the Park Ashok Jain said, “The Park has been reopened from June 17 onwards under strict safety measures. Thermal screening has been made mandatory at both entry gate and people are not allowed to gather at one place inside the park.” He further said the park premise is being sanitised regularly and people are not allowed to gather at one place as part of social distancing practice.
