MP tops in online entries of road accidents on IRAD app

Madhya Pradesh has topped other states across the country in ensuring online entries of road accidents in the Integrated Road Accident Database (IRAD) App whereas Jabalpur district has procured second position in the State in doing so. The ADGP PTRI D C Sagar Bhopal appreciated this achievement of Jabalpur district and honoured the Superintendent of Police and Jabalpur team of NIC with Letter of Appreciation. Ashish Shukla, Incharge, District Information Science Centre (NIC) informed that to check road accidents, the Ministry of Road Transport and National Highway, Government of India has developed Integrated Road Accident Database App with the support of IIT Madras and NIC. Six States across the country have done online entry of road accidents in the Database app since March 15, 2021.
 
Shukla further informed that all the districts of Madhya Pradesh ensure online entry of district-level road accidents in the database app, based on which these districts are given ranking in two categories. The first category belonged to those eleven districts where maximum road accidents are registered while another category belong to the remaining districts where comparatively less number of road accidents take place. Shukla added that Sagar topped the State in the online data entry followed by Jabalpur and Indore on the second and third positions, respectively. Regular ranking is issued for online entry of road accidents in the app. The NIC Officer concluded that with the help of facts and figures obtained on the basis of data entry in IRAD App, the higher authorities will conduct proper analysis and identify the spots with maximum number of accidents. Simultaneously, after identifying causes, efforts would be made to rectify those problems.
