The ongoing indefinite strike of junior doctors has put the patients in dilemma especially those who are admitted at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College Hospital suffering from COVID-19, Mucormycosis and other critical diseases. After th double bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court mentioned the JUDA strike was completely illegal during global pandemic and allowed the State Government to take action if the strike was not called off, the higher authorities have initiated the process of canceling registration of junior doctors. Irked with the latest move, junior doctors across the State submitted their mass resignation.

 

Even the senior doctors of Medical College have tried to counsel junior doctors about their duties, but all their efforts have been useless as the junior doctors are still adament to continue their strike. They are still not ready to call off their strike till they get written orders from the government. Now they are getting support of senior

 

 

Earlier, Commissioner, Medical Education, Nishant Warbade said that as per CPI, the Government is ready for hike of 17 per cent in stipend and order will be released soon Simultaneously, Medical Students’ Insurance Scheme is being initiated. But the JUDA is adamant on getting 24 per cent hike. Medical profession belongs to a noble cause to serve humanity, hence the doctors must avoid the desire of financial gain. Director, Medical Education, Dr Ulka Shrivastava said that the doctors select medical college on their own will to pursue their PG and hence, they very well know about stiffen amount to be offered in the medical college they opted for. Even during PG they need patients for their practical practice, hence they must call off their strike as serving patients is the top priority in medical profession.

 

 

 

Amidst all the ruckus, Jabalpur branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) has came in support of Junior Doctors’ Association strike and strongly criticised the State Government for canceling their registration to create pressure on them to call off the strike.

 

The IMA further appealed the State Government not to display dictatorial attitude towards junior doctors who without concerned about their own life, served infected patients during the first and second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Dr. Deepak Sahu, President, Jabalpur IMA, requested the

State Government to reinstate the registration of junior doctors and sensitively take decision on their demands.

Dr. Sahu on behalf of all the private doctors of Jabalpur city, further warned to withdraw their services if the demands of junior doctors remain unfulfilled.
