RCOEM among top 100 semi-finalists of Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge

The Spectro Processor team of Centre for Microsystem, RCOEM Nagpur working on the project titled “Design and development of Spectro Processor for Biomedical Applications” has been shortlisted amongst the top 100 semi-finalists of Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge. The project focuses on the development of platform based solutions around Swadeshi core processors for bodily fluid analysis and has the potential to overcome the hardware dependency of existing instruments by providing software based solutions.
 
The team consists of Sangeeta Palekar Sammanwar, Research Scholar, Electronics Engineering Department along with faculty mentors Dr Jayu Kalambe (RCOEM, Nagpur) and Dr Rajendra Patrikar (VNIT, Nagpur). MeitY, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had announced the Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge under #AtmanibharBharat Abhiyan to provide impetus to the strong ecosystem of start-ups, innovators and researchers in the country. The semi-finalist team has been awarded with the cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and FPGA Board for MVP/POC development along with free access to Swadeshi Processor Ecosystem. Out of 6,169 teams (about 10,024 participants) who registered for the challenge, 1,200 qualified for the quarter final round following an online quiz and abstract submission. Only 100 teams were selected for the semifinal round based on the proposal submitted.
