Around 65,000 private schools across State kept their online class suspended on Monday in order to oppose the decision of State Government. Schools said that their campuses are closed for past one and half year and Government allows them to charge only tuition fee from students. They said that they are unable to meet the maintenance charge of building along with staff wages. There were demonstrations held by schools in several cities. In Bhopal, school co-ordinators gathered at Rajya Shiksha Kendra to press for their demand while in Indore schools submitted the building keys to DEO office.

The protest was conducted on the call of the Association of Unaided Private Schools to oppose the decision of State Government. The association said if the Government fails to meet the demand of schools, then they will go on an indefinite strike. Prestigious missionary schools like St Joseph Co-Ed School, Bhopal, Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School, St Joseph Convent School, Idgah Hills, etc kept their online classes suspended for all the classes. School authorities said that they have informed parents on WhatsApp group about one-day holiday on Monday and on July 13, online classes will resume as per schedule.

Sources said that after calling the strike, schools have been divided into two groups. While one group of schools is supporting the strike, another group denied the same. In a few cities, parents have threatened to protest against schools. Suspense over demonstration of schools in Bhopal and Indore city is continuing. After Government decided to keep the schools closed and asked schools to charge to only tuition fee from students, the association came into action.
