EFFECTING crime preventive measures with due alertness and tracking, absconding criminals in the course of special drive, while foiling dacoity bid, Durg Police apprehended seven and confiscated two automatic pistols, four magazines, 14 live cartridges and two iron rods from their possession after having carried out raid at a house in Canal Road in Khurispar, Bhilai. The police registered the offence against the accused and they were remanded to jail from the court following their arrest. ASP (City), Sanjay Kumar Dhruv told the media persons that in the ongoing drive in close supervision of and guidance of Superintendent of Police, Prashant Agrawal, police are keeping track of criminals and maintaining vigil at police stations’ level for rounding up all absconding criminals and checking illegal activities across the district.
 
He informed that the accused arrested by police were identified as Amit Kumar Singh (19), a resident of Kailash Nagar, Sundar Vihar Colony, Jamul; Josh Morris (29), a resident of Street-31, Sector-6, Bhilai; Inder Singh alias Sunny alias Takli (21), Salman Ansari (21), Arbaz Siddiqui (24), Sumit Singh (22) and Rupesh Singh (20) all residents various areas of Khursipar, Bhilai. While citing confession of the accused and facts duly verified in the course of investigation, ASP, Dhruv informed that after a tip off police team led by Vishwas Chandrakar, CSP, Chhaoni Police Subdivision, Bhilai, also in the team Durgesh Sharma, SHO, Khursipar Police Station, Bhilai, raided the house of one of the accused and arrested seven with arms and ammunitions.
 
As per confession of the accused they were intending to commit dacoity and setting target when police raided the place. They also disclosed before police that the pistols and ammunition they have procured from Bihar State. Among the accused arrested by police Arbaz Siddiqui, Inder Singh and Salman Ansari are recorded criminals several grave offences, including murder, attempt to murder, criminal assaults were registered against them.
