New Integrated Passenger Information System (IPIS) are being installed in all the platforms of Raipur Railway Station and will be commissioned in August. Rakesh Singh, Station Director of Raipur Railway Station while talking to The Hitavada informed that the IPIS displays the coach numbers to guide the passengers about the exact position of coaches. The old coach display systems are out dated and they are being replaced by the new one. At present Indian Railways has introduced new coaches which are longer in size with extra sitting capacity and better passenger amenities. Due to which the placements of old coach display positions were mismatched.

 

In order to make correction as per the new coaches IPIS display boards are being installed in all the platforms. New display boards will have better and bigger display digits in White colour so that passengers will get better idea of the coach positions in the platform and it will be visible from distance. The work of installation is expected to be completed by August and will be commissioned.
