RAIPUR,

Taking investigation ahead in sedition case registered against suspended Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Gurjinder Pal Singh, Raipur’s Kotwali police on Wednesday visited the residence of the missing IPS officer for reconstruction of scene regarding recovery of documents by State Economic Offence Investigation and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SEOIACB). “A police team today (Wednesday) visited the residence of IPS G P Singh for recreation of scene to find out from where the documents were seized by SEOIACB. We have sought documents containing original handwriting of the officer from SEOIACB for Question Documents (QD) examination,” said a senior officer.

The police team, led by Kotwali Station House Officer (SHO) Mohsin Khan, undertakes the scene reconstruction task and soon a report in this connection will be submitted, added the officer. It may be recalled that based on the documents recovered from IPS Singh and his associate Mani Bhushan from his residence during the raid, Raipur’s Kotwali police booked the ADGP rank officer under Sections 124-A (sedition) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The documents recovered by the State Economic Offence Investigation and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SEOIACB) during the raids revealed that Singh was allegedly involved in promoting enmity and hatching a conspiracy against the established government and public representatives.

During the three-daylong search carried out at 15 locations of IPS Singh, the ADGP rank officer who was posted as Director of state police academy, SEOIACB claimed to have unearthed properties and investments to the tune of around Rs 10 crore along with recovery of several incriminating documents.
