Indian Youth Congress and District Congress Committee took out a bicycle rally to stage protest against sky-rocketing prices of essential goods. Starting from TP Nagar, the rally concluded at Ghantaghar, with Congress leaders and workers shouting slogans against central government. The prices of petrol and diesel are reaching Rs 100 per litre. Monthly budget of the middle class families has fallen apart due to sky-high prices of essential goods such as cooking oil, vegetables and other items. While BJP leaders shouted their lungs out against former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, in the name of price rise, the same leaders are now watching the misery of common man without batting an eyelid. These statements were given by District Congress President Sapna Chauhan.

District Youth Congress President Nitin Chaurasiya added that while several lakhs have lost their jobs during lockdown, central government is making no efforts to make life easier for them. For a common man, it has become a Herculean task to arrange two square meals for his children. As a mark of protest against the spiralling prices of petrol and diesel, Congress workers cycled their way to Ghantaghar. They said that while the prices of petroleum are comparatively lower in international market, central government in the nation has increased domestic prices of petrol. This has led to a hike in transportation cost, making things costlier than before. Mayor Rajkishore Prasad, Archana Upadhyay, Kusum Dwivedi, Rakesh Pankaj and others were present in the rally.
