Chhattisgarh Police has expedited the search of suspended Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Gurjinder Pal Singh. The joint team of State Economic Offences Investigation and Anti Corruption Bureau (SEOI-ACB) on Thursday searched the official residence of ADGP with search warrant. Highly-placed sources in Raipur Police said that teams of over half-a-dozen Station House Officers (SHOs) will cast about for Gurjinder Pal Singh in different states across the nation. Police teams will scour through the states like West Bengal, Delhi, Punjab and other states. The police were also keeping a close tab on relatives and acquaintances of suspended ADGP Singh. A high-level meeting was also held to plan the search operation for ADGP Singh at Control Room, Civil Lines.

The meeting had presence of several higher officials from Cyber Cell, Anti-Corruption Bureau and many other Departments. The petition of ADGP Singh was heard on Thursday, wherein the Court asked State Government to produce the case diary. Next hearing in the case shall be held after the filing of reply by the State Government. The police haven’t yet declared ADGP Singh an absconder, but as the search has been accelerated with search warrant, speculations are rife that he might be declared an absconder. The police searched the residence of IPS Gurjinder Pal Singh for five straight hours. As per reports, four laptops and 2 desktops were also seized. The police also suspect some documents were either hidden or destroyed. IT experts will be roped in for searching hidden files. Notably, ADGP Gurjinder Pal Singh has been booked under the provisions of sedition at City Kotwali Police Station.
