Resentment among several leaders over appointments
THERE is resentment among several Congress leaders who could not make it to the boards, corporations, commissions and authorities. Several devoted senior Congress leaders’ names were missing from the second list of political appointments issued on Thursday night.

Congress leader Arun Bhadra, who has been appointed as the Member of Raipur Development Authority, has refused to take this post. Arun Bhadra wrote in social media, “Congratulations to all my colleagues on these appointments. I am not interested in this post. Before the assembly election, then Party president used to assign work to me which I did with commitment and in the interest of the party, which is well known. After formation of Congress government in the state, I did whatever work was assigned to me by the Congress party and senior leaders. I am not accepting this post and government facility. It would be worthwhile to give it to another dedicated Congress colleague.” The Congress party sources claimed that several senior Congress leaders were neglected in the second list.

Ramkumar Patel of Janjgir-Champa district, who has been made the chairman of Shakambhari board, had faced serious allegation. Ramkumar Patel was accused of threatening the officers of the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education by impersonating as police officer 6 years ago while working in the Home Guard. Patel pressurized the officials for admission of his nephew in B.Ed by impersonating as then Bilaspur IG. Patel also had to face police investigation in this case. After which Patel left the job of Home Guard, sources added.

Sanjay Gupta of Surajpur has been made as the Member of Krishak Kalyan Parishad. On social media, several Congress leaders wrote that they are not aware about any Congress leader named Sanjay Gupta in Surajpur. Meanwhile, State Congress Spokesman Vikas Tiwari said that the Congress party has given posts in boards, corporations, commissions and authorities to the devoted Congress party leaders. The Congress leaders from almost all districts of the state have been given positions in this list. The Congress party has taken care of devoted Congress leaders at the ground level, Tiwari added.

However, the Congress leaders, included in the list are delighted and some Congress leaders reached Rajiv Bhawan on Friday and distributed sweets. CPCC’s Communication Department Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said that the Congress leaders, who were not given positions in second list, may get positions in the next list. The posts in Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Corporation, State Beverages Corporation, Tourism Board, Sahkari Banks and others are still lying vacant, he added.
