Before leaving for nationals in Japan, Shikhar will take par t in the training camp at Bhuvaneshwar from July 20 till Sept 7
 
 
Volleyball player, Shikhar Singh, former cadet in SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Day Boarding Scheme, to train young players who later played in BSP Volleyball team, has been selected for the Indian Volleyball Team that would take part in the 21st Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Tournament in Japan between September 8 and 20 this year. This information was shared by Saheeram Jakhad, the DGM in Sports, Cultural & Civic Amenities Department of BSP. Before the Tournament, Shikhar Singh would participate in the training camp at Bhuvaneshwar from July 20 to September 7.
 
Shikhar was selected for the Indian Team on the basis of his performance during the 69th Senior National Volleyball Tournament at Bhuvaneshwar in March 2021. A regular player for Bhilai Steel Plant, Shikhar has been member of the BSP Team in Steel Plants Sports Board (SPSB) and State-level tournaments. Shikhar has also played for the country as member of Indian Junior Volleyball Team. Anirban Dasgupta, the Director In-Charge, Bhilai Steel Plant, S K Dubey, ED (P&A), other senior officers and sports enthusiasts of Bhilai have congratulated Shikhar Singh on being selected for the national team and have wished him the best for his future.
