Chhattisgarh Government has on Tuesday decided to reopen the schools, colleges, and universities across State with only 50 per cent capacity from August 2. The important decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his official residence. According to the decision, the State Government has decided to reopen universities and colleges for the academic session-2021-22 with only 50 per cent capacity from August 2. The students will attend classes on alternate days. In view of decreasing corona cases in State, the State Government has decided to allow the students to physically attend the classes from August 2, under which classes will be conducted daily with 50 per cent of the attendance.
 
The online classes being conducted for all the faculties/classes will also continue as it is. The safety protocol for Covid-19 will be strictly adhered to. All Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in State will be started. Medical colleges, engineering colleges, polytechnics will be reopened in a phased manner. It will not be mandatory for the students to attend the colleges physically. Classes for 10th and 12th standards will begin from August 2 with 50 per cent attendance of students. However, this will require the consent of the parents. If there is not a single case of corona infection, in such a situation the Gram Panchayats will be able to take the decision of running the schools in consultation with the parents. Bastar Divisional commissioner has been authorized by the cabinet for reopening of ashrams, hostels and Pota Cabin (class 8th to 12th) in Sukma, Bijapur and Narayanpur. Reopening of hostels and ashrams in remaining four districts of Bastar division. Similarly, regarding the operation of schools in urban areas, a decision will be taken with the consent of the local councillors and parents, informed a press communiqué issued by Department of Public Relations, Government of Chhattisgarh. The Cabinet approved the Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill-2021-22 with regard to the presentation of the first supplementary estimate for the year 2021-2022 in the monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, beginning from July 26.
 
The contractual appointment of Deputy Inspector General (STF) Baghera Durg Colonel Rajnish Sharma has been approved for one year by giving relaxation in Rule 7 (2) of Contractual Rule-2012. Chhattisgarh Housing Board’s 58 colonies located in different districts of the state have been transferred to the urban bodies of the respective areas. The completed sectors of Kamal Vihar under Raipur Development Authority, Phase-1 and Phase-2 of Indraprastha Yojana, Dr Khubchand Baghel Transport Nagar and Syama Prasad Mookerjee residential and commercial areas have also been transferred to Raipur Municipal Corporation. It was approved to sell self-financing residential/commercial properties of Chhattisgarh Housing Board at cost price under the sale scheme and implement special freight purchase scheme and One Time Settlement. It was decided to give 15 percent rebate in the total interest amount payable to all at the time of payment of final instalment under Special Freight Purchase Scheme and General Freight Purchase Scheme. It was decided to sell 14 identified colonies and 7 commercial premises of the Housing Board at the cost price. This will reduce the cost of houses on an average by 16.5 per cent. The cabinet has also decided to allot 20 acres of land free of cost to School Education Department for establishment of world class educational institution at Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar for Rs 50 crore will be allocated and Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education will provide Rs 15 crore, Rs 10 crore by Chhattisgarh State Open School and Rs 25 crore by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board. The State Government has approved the Chhattisgarh Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College Durg (Acquision) Bill-2021. The Cabinet also decided to amend Rule 8 of Chhattisgarh Store Purchase Rules 2002 (Amended in 2020) for procurement of herbal products and ayurvedic medicines through Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce (Trading & Development) Co-operative Federation Limited on public private partnership. After the Cabinet’s this decision, all the departments, undertakings and institutions under the state government will be able to procure ayurvedic medicines, herbal products and processed food items from minor forest produce directly through Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce as per their requirement and under available budget. In this regard, it was decided to give relaxation on inviting tenders as per the provision of Chhattisgarh Store Purchase Rules.
 
It has been decided to transfer the Hi-Tech Bus Stand developed by Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation and Industrial Development Centre Sirgitti to Municipal Corporation Bilaspur. The Cabinet also approved a special investment incentive package for investment in the pharmaceutical industry under the Industrial Policy 2019-24 of Chhattisgarh. A supplementary proposal under the Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Protsahan Yoajan has been approved in the cabinet meeting. Ragi crop has been included under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Other various important decisions including auction of 17 coal blocks, Proposal for setting up of C-MART in Mandis and hiking members of the Chhattisgarh Rajya Krishak Parishad from 10 to 21 were also taken in the cabinet meeting.
