Over 10.64 lakh doses administered during mass vaccination drive

A mass inoculation drive – organised in the State vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries against COVID-19 on Thursday. COVID-19 vaccination was done at 4,640 centres including 4,624 government sessions and 16 sessions were held at private institutes. The target of the health department was to administer a total of 11.5 lakh doses, against which 10,64,424 shots were given on Thursday.
 
The vaccination drive in the state was hit by shortage of vaccine doses and on Monday, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had instructed the government in centre to ensure sufficient COVID-19 vaccine doses in Madhya Pradesh, so that every citizen could get at least first dose of the vaccine by September end. According to information gained from CoWin portal, nearly 10.64 lakh doses were administered in the state by 9 pm. Indore maintained its lead with 73,173 doses, followed by Ujjain, where 43,322 doses were administered on Thursday. Bhopal has reported administration of 29,359 vaccine doses as vaccination was carried out 125 sites here on Thursday.
