Professor of Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Saurashtra University Rajkot, Gujarat Dr Alok Kumar Chakrawal has been appointed as new Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Central University (GGCU), Bilaspur. He will take charge from outgoing V-C Professor Anjila Gupta.

In this regard, Under Secretary of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India Navin Kumar has issued an order.

According to the order, in exercise of powers conferred under Statutes (2) of the Central Universities Act-2009, President of India, in his capacity as the visitor of GGCU has appointed Professor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot Dr Alok Kumar Chakrawal as Vice-Chancellor of GGCU, Bilaspur for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier. Dr Alok Kumar Chakrawal as the Vice-Chancellor of GGCU shall be those as set forth in the Act, Statues and Ordinances of the University, the order added.
