CHINA’S brazen rejection of the World Health Organisation (WHO) plan for another round of investigation into the coronavirus leak theory from the Wuhan laboratory comes on expected lines. The Chinese obstinacy stems from the initial flip-flop by the timid WHO authorities when Intelligence community had provided big evidence into the case. When it got access to the lab in question and an opportunity to go deeper into the origin of the deadly virus, the WHO seemed more than eager to concur with the Chinese version.

 

Accordingly, the first clean chit from the health agency came at a quick pace even when the entire international community was convinced that something was amiss in the entire episode. The WHO had a plethora of discriminating material submitted by individual investigators as well as Intelligence agencies of top powers indicting China of initial wrongdoing in outbreak of the pandemic but the organisation used its own sweet discretion and overlooked all material evidence. It is now time to find out whether the WHO investigators in the first phase compromised the operation. The Chinese belligerence seemed to have overwhelmed the WHO.
