CM advocates strengthening of co-operative movement in CG

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday attended the induction function of new chairman of District Co-operative Central Bank Rajnandgaon. CM Baghel stressed on strengthening the co-operative movement to make the rural economy self-reliant. CM Baghel said farmers have high hopes from co-operative bank. Expansion of co-operative bank to boost the rural economy is needed. Along with the farmers, labourers, cow breeders, and tribal people of forest regions should also be connected to co-operative banks. CM also congratulated the newly appointed chairman Nawaz Khan and announced construction of new building for co-operative banks of forested villages of Maanpur and Mudipar (Khairagarh). Each co-operative bank building will be built at a cost of Rs 36 lakh.
 
CM also reiterated about state government’s flagship scheme of Narva, Garuva, Ghurva and Baadi’s objective to strengthen rural economy. He said the state built cow (Gauthans) shelters, where women self-help groups are earning income by selling vermi-compost and super compost manufactured of cow dung. So far, approximately 9 lakh quintal vermi-compost and super compost have been sold to the farmers. He also targeted the central government, accusing of shortage in chemical fertilizers. State Government was trying to make up for the supply shortage.
 
The state is also promoting organic farming by encouraging maximum usage of vermi-compost. The progrmame was also attended by Lok Sabha MP Deepak Baij and Rajya Sabha MP Phoolodevi Netam and Chhattisgarh Co-operative Bank Chairman Baijnath Chandrakar, State Backward Category Authority Chairman Daleshwar Sahu, Chhattisgarh State SC Authority Chairman Bhuvaneshwar Shobharam Baghel, MLA Inder Singh Mandawi, Devvrat Singh, Channi Sahu, Chhattisgarh Atyavasayi Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation Chairman Dhanesh Patila and other public representatives.
