Over 9.50 lakh persons jabbed in drive

The mass inoculation drive – continued in the State after a day gap – vaccinated more than 9.50 lakh beneficiaries against COVID-19 on Saturday. COVID-19 vaccination was done at 4,386 centres including 4,363 government sessions and 23 sessions were held at private institutes.
 
The target of the Health Department was to administer a total of 44 thousand doses in the state captial, against which 36,558 shots were given on Saturday. The vaccination drive in the state was hit by shortage of vaccine doses and on Monday, last week, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had instructed the government in centre to ensure sufficient COVID-19 vaccine doses in Madhya Pradesh, so that every citizen could get at least first dose of the vaccine by September end.
 
According to information gained from CoWin portal, nearly 9.50 lakh doses were administered in the state by 9 pm. Indore maintained its lead with 58,206 doses, followed by Jabalpur, where 33,045 doses were administered. Bhopal has reported administration of 33,558 vaccine doses as vaccination was carried out 128 sites here on Saturday.
