Girls outshine boys in CGBSE 12th exams

While overall passing percentage remained 97.43%, 98.06% girls were successful in comparison to 96.69% boys
 
 
With 98.06 per cent success, girls outshined the boys (96.69%) in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination-2021, conducted by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) in the first-second week of June. The overall results of Class XII remained 97.43 per cent unlikae Class X results in which students tasted 100 per cent success. It is worthwhile to mention, Class XII Examination 2021 was conducted from home. It may be recalled that in the 2020 CGBSE Class XII examination, 78.59 per cent students got success. School Education Department Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam announced the results through videoconferencing at CHiPS on Sunday and wished the students who succeeded in the examination a bright future.
 
Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay was also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, a total of 2,89,023 Class XII students of Chhattisgarh were registered for the ‘Examination from Home’ conducted by the CGBSE. However, 2,86,850 students had appeared, said the Minister. Results of 2402 students were cancelled due to various reasons while results of 341 students will be declared later. In this way, results of a total of 2,84,107 students, including 1,30,561 boys and 1,53,546 girls, were declared on Sunday. Out of 2,84,107 students’ results declared, 2,76,817 students got success in the examination. 98.06 per cent girls tasted success in the examination in comparison to 96.69 per cent boys. As many as 2,71,155 (95.44 percent) students got first division while 5,570 students (1.96%) and 79 students (.03%) got second and third division respectively. 13 students were included in passing category. Similarly, 2035 students were declared eligible for supplement examination while 3,204 boys and 2051 girls were declared fail. To mention, 2,16,526 students cleared the CGBSE Class XII examination in 2020. 82.02 percent girls and 74.70 boys had qualified the examination.
 
In the Higher Secondary Vocational Examination 2021, 11 students, including seven boys and four girls, were enrolled. All the students had appeared for the examination and got successful. Results can be seen on CGBSE websites www.cgbse.nic.in, www.results.cg.nic.in and www.hindi.news18.com. Minister Dr Tekam thanked the CGBSE officials and officials of school education department, police department, collectors, principal secretary, commissioner and secretary of school education department for holding the examination successfully during Covid-19 pandemic. As the pattern of examination was changed owing to Covid-19 pandemic, the merit list was not declared. Similarly, students cannot apply for revaluation or retotalling, said the Minister, adding, students not satisfied with results can appear for offline examination. To a query, Minister Dr Tekam said that the government has taken the decision to reopen school for Class X and XII students. “If we are able to manage things smoothly after the reopening of schools for Class 10 and 12, then we can consider other classes,” said the Minister.
