A joint team of Raipur’s Cyber Cell, Kotwali and Telibandha police arrested two persons, including a buyer of stolen valuables, in connection with theft at Nagina Jems in Raipur. The arrested were identified as Shravan Kumar Vishnoi (30) and Amichand Soni alias Omprakash (37), both natives of Rajasthan, said Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Lakhan Patle, elaborating that search for three others identified as Prakash, Bhanwarlal and Ruparam Jaat is underway. Amichand was arrested for purchasing the stolen valuables, added ASP Patle. “From the possession of the arrested duo, police have recovered around 188 grams of gold, diamonds, silver ornaments and two mobile handsets, collectively worth Rs 15 lakh” informed ASP Patle.
 
It may be recalled that on July 18, an employee of Nagina Jems along with others allegedly escaped with valuables and cash, collectively worth Rs 3.50 crore, from the shop. In this connection, an offence was registered with Kotwali police station under relevant Section of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The mastermind of the crime was Prakash, the employee of Nagina Jems, and Bhanwarlal, added the ASP. “In preliminary police investigation, it came to light that the vehicle used by Prakash and Bhanwarlal to escape from Raipur was brought by Shravan and Rupalal from Rajasthan. Investigation revealed that Shravan Kumar is wanted in Haryana and Haryana Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 5000 on him. Shravan Kumar had stolen around 22 four-wheelers from separate places in Gujarat and Haryana,” ASP Patle said. Based on the CCTV footage of the shop and footage of roads used by the accused to escape the city, a police team was dispatched to Rajasthan wherein the team arrested Shravan Kumar and Amichand, said ASP Patle, elaborating that soon absconding accused will be in police net.
