CM discusses procurement of summer moong with Union Minister Tomar

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at his office in New Delhi and discussed about the procurement of summer Moong crop on Thursday. He urged the Centre to ensure maximum procurement of Moong crop from state’s registered farmers at minimum support price so that the farmers can get the full price for their produce. He also urged the Union Minister to set an additional target of 05 lakh metric tonnes for summer Moong and 0.61 lakh metric tonnes for the summer Urad. He informed that Central Government has achieved the target of maximum procurement of 34020 metric tonnes of summer Moong and one lakh metric tonnes of Moong crop under Price Stabilisation Fund scheme.
 
In this way a target of procurement of total 1.34 lakh metric tonnes of moong has been achieved. He informed that total production of pulses of state is 64.94 lakh metric tonnes in year 2020-21, while the target of total procurement is 17.23 lakh metric tonnes. Hence, 17.23 lakh metric tonne is yet to be procured. He informed that about 3.2 lakh farmers have registered for procurement of 12 lakh metric tonnes of Moong in the state. State has so far achieved the target of 1.34 lakh metric tonnes of Moong, which is very less. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave a patient ear to the Chief Minister and assured all possible support by the Centre.
