Nova Nature Welfare Society on Thursday convened an anti-poaching training programme by organising anti-snare walk on the International Tiger Day. The day is observed to raise awareness about conservation of tigers among common people. Nova Nature Welfare Society has been working for the conservation of wildlife in Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve since 2004. The society members carry out estimation of tigers in hinterlands of tiger reserve, hold awareness campaign among local people and stop conflict between humans and elephants.

To the same end, the society organised anti-snare walk training with the Forest Department staffers in Sitanadi, Risgaon and Arsikanhar range. Besides, Wildlife Trust of India’s Dr RP Mishra educated people about the tigers. A quiz competition was also organised for the staff. The programme had the presence of USTR Range Officer Gopal Kashyap, Bhopal Singh Rajput and entire forest staff, Nova Nature Welfare Society’s M Suraj, Om Prakash, and Yugal Joshi.
