State gets in-principle nod to host ‘Khelo India Youth Games 2022’

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur at latter’s residence in New Delhi and expressed his gratitude for giving in-principle consent to organise ‘Khelo India Youth Games 2022’ in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. CM made a formal announcement of organising ‘Khelo India Youth Games 2022’ in Bhopal and also requested to inaugurate the newly-constructed multi purpose hall with Centre’s assistance at TT Nagar Stadium in Bhopal. CM informed that a budget provision of Rs 45 crore has been made in the current financial year for organising ‘Khelo India Youth Games 2022’.
 
He said that preparations for the event have been started in Bhopal. The construction work of multipurpose hall at TT Nagar Stadium is almost nearing completion. In this, assistance and co-operation is expected from the Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. He has also requested Union Minister to accept the proposals of Rs 56.93 crore soon pending in the Central Government related to sports in Madhya Pradesh. These proposals mainly include construction of Bijal shooting range in Indore district, construction of synthetic athletics track in Shivpuri, Ratlam and Indore, construction of sports complex in Damoh and Agar Malwa. Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur listened carefully to the Chief Minister and assured all possible support by the Ministry.
