Beneficiaries slated for 2nd dose of vaccination get jabbed in drive

Continuing the ‘Mega Vaccination Camp’, only the second dose of Covaxin was administered to the beneficiaries across the State on Saturday. At least 2,66,511 second doses of Covaxin were given on Saturdaym taking the overall vaccination numbers to 2,15,92,413. There was a confusion among beneficiaries as many arrived at centres for first doses while many reached to get Covishield jab. But when they visited vaccination centres (session sites), they were denied vaccination. Indore led with 45,209 vaccinations while Bhopal recorded 13,940 and Gwalior recorded 9,663 and Jabalpur recorded 22,230. Ujjain recorded 14,338 vaccinations.
 
Sagar recorded 17,561 vaccinations. Sehore recorded 4,615 while Vidisha recorded 2,768 and Raisen 3,852. Districts which recorded low turnout of vaccination - Alirajpur recorded 503, Panna recorded 696 while Sheopur recorded 969. Umaria recorded 984. Second dose of Covishield on July 5 Only second dose of Covishield vaccine will be administered by the health department on Monday. As per National Heath Mission, fist dose tally went to 1.87 crore while second dose went to 28 lakh. So, health department has focused on second dose in the state. So, two days have been fixed for the second dose only. There will no first dose for beneficiaries. Health Department had to drop vaccination plan on July 2 because of shortage of vaccines.
