With this, the speedy implementation of the projects of National Highway Development Authority/Railway will give impetus to the development of the State. Various departments/undertakings of the State Government require private land from time to time for their infrastructure, construction works and implementation of development projects, with a view to save the additional time and cost involved in the process of land acquisition, land can be obtained with the mutual consent of the land holders by paying the agreed amount and the government projects can be implemented in the stipulated time period, for this, for the implementation of the projects of public interest by the State Government the Land Purchase With Mutual Consent Policy, 2014 is in force since November 14, 2014.

The above policy is, at present, not applicable in the case of Central Government Departments/Undertakings. There is a demand by many departments/undertakings of the Central Government to include them in this policy, in which the National Highway Authority and Railways are the main ones.
