IN an attempt to murder, three rounds were fired at a history sheeter following heated exchange over a trivial matter in Maroda, Bhilai during late night on Monday. Though the history sheeter escaped unhurt, police said the incident appeared to be outcome of sudden provocation following heated exchange over obstructing the passage. In view of the gun firing incident and failure to respond immediately after the crime, Bhavesh Sao, Station House Officer (SHO), Newai Police Station was line attached by the Superintendent of Police, Durg. As per order Santosh Mishra, Inspector, Reserve Police Force is to take charge as SHO, Newai. Police sources informed that according to the complainant Brijesh Rai alias Pinky (44), a resident of Ganesh Nagar, Risali, Bhilai who is also a history sheeter, he was returning home in his car when behind Tanki Maroda area he saw three persons chatting obstructing the road.
 
When Brijesh asked them to clear the road they did not budge following which there was a heated exchange of words and the unidentified persons fired three rounds. One bullet hit the driving side door of the car but the history sheeter escaped unhurt, the police said adding that incident appeared to be outcome of sudden provocation following heated exchanges over obstructing the road in the locality. After the incident Brijesh Rai soon got into his car sped away. Police sources informed that after information SP, Prashant Agrawal along with senior officials including CSP, Bhilai Nagar, Rakesh Joshi reached the spot and inspected the crime scene.
