Under Malaria free Chhattisgarh Campaign over 1.41 lakh houses were visited by team members of Health Department in State. Samples of 6 lakh 27 thousand 363 persons have been tested out of which 4,735 patients were found positive and treatment was started on the spot. Sources informed that in Bastar division fourth phase of the campaign started in all seven districts of state on June 15. At the same time second phase of the campaign is taking place in five districts of Surguja division. While in rest of nine districts first phase is active. In view of the good results of this campaign conducted earlier in Bastar and Surguja divisions, this time the malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign has been expanded to 21 districts.
 
National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have appreciated the campaign launched in Bastar division and has been termed as one of the best campaign. Under the campaign launched by state government health and family welfare department and National Health Mission this time target have been set to collect samples of over 20.43 lakh people in 21 districts. Team of Mitanins will reach remote areas of Bastar surrounded by forest and hilly regions.
 
Over 11.37 lakh samples will be collected in remote areas while in 14 other districts about 9.06 lakh samples will be collected. Dr Priyanka Shukla, Director of National Health Mission and Health and Family Welfare Department informed that team of health department have collected samples from 1 lakh 18 thousand houses and over 5.36 lakh persons were tested during fourth phase in Bastar division. All 4,676 positive patients were given treatment on the spot. According to information, samples tested by the team in Bastar district is 60,835, Bijapur 97,016, Dantewada 1,19,172, Kanker 30,669, Kondagaon 44,721, Sukma 1,20,687, Narainpur 63,080. Positive cases found in the area were 647 in Bastar, 730 in Bijapur, 608 Dantewada, 206 Kanker, 295 Kondagaon, 683 Sukma and 1,507 Narainpur. According to information, free medicine kits were distributed to the positive patients on the spot and spray were performed in houses. Medicated mosquito nets were distributed. People were made aware on prevention from Malaria.
