On the occasion of International Youth Day #DisposeSafely Campaign was held in MP Nagar, by Relive Eco Foundation, to spread awareness on safe disposal of mask and gloves, an ongoing environmental issue, currently being faced globally. Environmentalist Zeeshan Khan, aka ‘Eco Man of India’, who first launched this campaign on Earth Day, told ‘The Hitavada’ that a recent report of World Wide Forum for Nature became public during lockdown.

“The shocking thing revealed in this report was that if even one per cent of masks in the world are being disposed incorrectly, more than one crore masks will be seen floating in the sea every day,” Khan added. Khan has taken this initiative to spread awareness on safe disposal of mask and gloves in order to prevent spread of coronavirus. “Our campaign gained support from environmentalists from over 12 countries by using hashtag to raise awareness through Instagram and other platforms,” he said.
