Rizwan strike gives Bhankheda FC title

STRIKER Rizwan Khan helped Bhankheda Football Club pip Al Fateh to win the Under-14 soccer tournament organised by Young Muslim Football Club (YMFC). A 35th minute goal from the forward was enough for Bhankheda to beat Al Fateh 1-0 in the summit clash. As many as 35 teams participated in the event. Bhankheda pocketed a purse of Rs 3000 cash a trophy while runners-up Al Fateh took home Rs 2000 and a trophy. Baba Football Club’s Ubaid was adjudged as player of the tournament. Apart from the Under-14 event, YMFC has also organised an open tournament. In the final, Al Fateh will lock horns with Global Football Club.
 
In the semi-finals, Al Fateh edged past Nazim Football Club 1-0 on 36th minute goal from Amir Sohail while Global got the better of Irfan Club 5-4 in the penalty shoot-out after the match ended without any score at end of the scheduled time. Heavy rains did not allow the final to be played as per the itinerary. At the outset, the event was inaugurated at the hands of Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari in the august presence of MLA Nagpur Central Vikas Kumbhare, YMFC President Kamil Ansari, Principal of Residential High School Mohammad Mubin and Pramod Dahikar.
