BRIDGE buffs from Orange City and those from neighbouring districts within Vidarbha had a decent challenge in VBA competing in open pairs event organised on Sunday. Father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar were at it again, exhilarating at the top. This time around it was an eight-pairs event played out at their favourite haunt Vidarbha Bridge Association’s sports complex in Shankar Nagar.

 

Competing in 28 deals Match Point contest played in Howell movement, playing against each pair consisting seven rounds of four deals each, Rewatkars scored 63.69 MP and emerged champions. The winning pair however, did face some keen competition from SK Patni and PN Dixit who finished runners-up with 63.10 MP. The difference between both the pairs was of one trick only. S Mitra and MI Hararwala finished second runners-up with 56.55 MP. Amit was Tournament Director for this brain game.
