Swarnim Vijay Varsh Cyclothon held

TO COMMEMORATE Golden Jubilee Victory Celebrations and to pay tribute to soldiers of 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, a 75 km Swarnim Vijay Varsh Cyclothon was organised at Air Force Station, Sonegaon, Nagpur on Thursday. The cyclothon was flagged off by Group Captain Kanchan Kumar, Station Commander, Air Force Station Sonegaon from Air Force Station Sonegaon.
 
Cyclists followed the route from Air Force Station Sonegaon to Sitabuldi through Chhatrapati Square, Ambazari Lake, Futala Lake, Japanese Garden, RBI Square and then headed back to Air Force Station Sonegaon via Chhatrapati Square, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and Janta Stadium covering a distance of 75 km. The cyclothon was undertaken by 75 air warriors of the Station. During the culmination of the event, Group Captain Kanchan Kumar, Station Commander, Air Force Station Sonegaon addressed the cyclists and urged them to make fitness a daily habit and encouraged them to prioritise sports and fitness in their day-to-day lives. He also highlighted the importance of the Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations and exhorted all air warriors to live up to the ideals of martyrs and war heroes of the 1971 war.
