TAITRA highlights opportunities for local industries in Taiwan

MIDC Industries Association (MIA) Hingna recently hosted the team of TAITRA Mumbai at MIA House. TAITRA is Taiwan’s foremost non-profit trade promoting organisation working actively towards assisting enterprises to expand their global reach. TAITRA hosts some of the world’s biggest trade shows and exhibitions to promote global trade and partnership. As a part of this initiative to interact and promote trade relations between the industries of Vidarbha and their counterparts in Taiwan, Welber Wang, Director of Taipei World Trade Center in Mumbai and Wrushabh Ghodmare, Project Manager of TAITRA Mumbai, met the office-bearers of MIDC Industries Association (MIA) Hingna. C G Shegaonkar, President – MIA Hingna, welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them about the industrial ecosystem of MIDC Hingna and Nagpur. Welber Wang in his address spoke about the various opportunities available for local industries in Taiwan as per their area of expertise. He further added that TAITRA will be happy to help local industries partner with Taiwanese industries and help their products reach global markets.
 
Wrushabh Ghodmare through his presentation showcased the various international trade shows that Taiwan hosts from the month of March to October and also invited the industrial fraternity to join the upcoming exhibitions. He also added that Taiwan is a small country in terms of area and population; but still it is one of the leading players when it comes to trade and innovation across the world. Top products that Taiwan imports and exports, the technological capabilities that the country offers in Smart City development and Global ICT market were showcased through the presentation. The regions of Taiwan are systematically divided as per the specialized product clusters which make it a very simplified process for industries to visit their intended regions directly. Lastly, the EC members present inquired regarding the various expos and opportunities available as per the industries of MIDC Hingna Industrial Area and also scope for collaboration in hydraulics, engineering equipment and in healthcare sector.
 
MIA also requested for the list of items from TAITRA which Nagpur MSME sector can take up for manufacturing for Taiwan industries under the Transfer of Technology, tie-ups; and the visiting dignitaries responded positively in this regard. Present on the occasion were S M Patwardhan – Vice President; P Mohan, Rajesh Ganorkar, Dr Ravindra Gandhi, Manish Sawal – Executive Committee members of MIA Hingna. Shegaonkar concluded the meeting by stating that, “This first meet could be a stepping stone towards establishing a meaningful and long relationship between the industries of Vidarbha and Taiwan, which will immensely benefit the industrial ecosystem.” Dr Ravindra Gandhi proposed the vote of thanks.
