PhD Scholar, Vinod Sahu from Centre of Bio-Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU) has been selected among top-10 candidates from across the country in Social Objectives-Led Volunteer Enterprise Development (SOLVED Challenge-2021). SOLVED Challenge-2021 has been organised by Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, United Nation Volunteer, India and United Nation Development Programme. The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs will award Sahu with a certificate and cash amount of Rs 1 lakh at Delhi-based Vigyan Bhavan on the occasion of World Youth Day on August 12. Sahu proposed the idea of ‘Micro Mobile Soil Testing Digital Advisory Lab’. Vice-chancellor, JNAU, Dr Pradeep Kumar Bisen, Dean, Agriculture Faculty, Dr Dhirendra Khare, Director, Research Services, G K Kotu, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr Amit Kumar Sharma boosted up Sahu’s morale while Centre Director, Dean Sgriculture College, Dr Sharad Tiwari, Dr Sushma Nema, Dr Keerti Tantvay and Dr R S Sharma provided him required guidance and support. It may be mentioned that the candidates had to submit new business idea on the topic ‘Permanent Food Value System’ in the competition to increase the farmers’ income. Sahu explained that the 'Micro Mobile Soil Testing Digital Advisory Lab' will help the farmers to conduct soil testing directly at their farms. Along with immediate report, the experts will provide them the much needed consultancy regarding seeds and market. This system can be developed in low cost.
