Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Vishnudutt Sharma, in an informal talk with the media on Friday, said that naming the Khel Ratna Award after Major Dhyanchand was an honor of every Indian.

 

He said hockey is the national game of our country and with the historic decision to name Khel Ratna Award after Major Dhyanchand, the magician of hockey who brought laurels to the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has added to the respect of countrymen. Sharma said the decision has boosted the morale of players of Team India, who recently won bronze medal in the Olympics. But, he said Congress leaders are aggrieved of this and if any Congressman wanted that the highest honor of the sports, Khel Ratna should not be named after Major Dhyanchand, he should come forward and say it to the public.

 

Sharma said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with the Home Minister and public representatives are toiling hard for several days to help people in flood affected areas. But, the Congress leaders and especially former Chief Minister who are limited to tweets only, are now showing concern and sympathy for affected people.

 

Earlier, Sharma get introduction of the newly appointed district office bearers at party office and asked them to work with full dedication for the organization. He also addressed a meeting of BJP’s health volunteers and said Prime Minister Modi and National President J P Nadda have decided to constitute teams of health volunteers in all the districts of States in the country. The teams would provide support in proper care and arrangement of every patient. The health volunteers would discharge their responsibilities by directly connecting with the center.
