The 75th birthday of Nitin Popat, veteran photo journalist was celebrated as Amrit Mahotsav at Gujarati Mandal Bhawan under the aegis of Photo Journalist Welfare Association. On the occasion MLA Ashok Rohani and Vinay Saxena, Inspector General of Police Bhagwat Singh Chouhan, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Bahuguna and many other dignitaries, senior journalists, photo and video journalists participated in the programme. The guests started the program by lighting the lamp.
 
Speaking on the occasion, IG Bhagwat Singh Chouhan said that photo journalism is a difficult art. Popat has mastered this art, his life and work are inspirational for the new generation. Senior journalist Mohan Shashi, Ravindra Bajpai, Pankaj Pateria, Ashish Shukla, Mathura Jain, Shailendra Singh Thakur, Jagat Bahadur Singh and others also expressed their views on the occasion. Later, representatives of a number of organizations honored Nitin Popat by presenting him mementos. Association's President Sanjay Rathore, Sanjeev Chaudhary, Deepak Patel, Anil Tiwari, Ravindra Vishwakarma, Ashok Burman and others also felicitated Popat by presenting him bouquet and garlands. On the occasion Bhajan Sandhya was also organised by singer Manish Agarwal.
